The Harper Family

(Jeff, Beth, Heidi, Kristin, Garrett and Gavin) of Ohio have three J-N ponies.

Heidi Harper finished J-N Gold Tough (Ditto) Supreme this past summer. Her sister Kristin is presently working with Ditto for the upcoming show season. However, Ditto was really, and will be someday, supposed to be Garrett's pony. As you can see Ditto is really the whole family's pony. Ditto's dam is Darlin Jill and his sire is J-N Ghost of Gold.

At the time Harpers bought Ditto at the International Sale, they also purchased a two year old, J-N Mighty Lonesome Dove. Heidi started working with Dove for last show season and they were able to complete Dove's ROM(NT). They have also started gymkhana events and Dove is taking to it and still able to go right back in the ring and be a pleasure pony.

Her dam is RM Diamond Sue and her sire is Mighty Pok-A-Son.

Heidi emailed asking about a weanling last spring. She took one look at my website of this cute colt. Heidi picked J-N Myte Awesome for the colts name (barn name Jake) and was able to take ownership of him at the International Show last year. With the training and riding Heidi has done with Ditto and Dove, I am sure it wouldn't be long before J-N Myte Awesome will be making a name for himself in the show ring.

Jake's Dam is J-N Autumn Gold and sire is J-N Mighty Matthew.

From Edmond Oklahoma, Bethany has had success with J-N Mighty Encore . This winning team placed first in the POA show at the Oklahoma State Fair in Western Pleasure and Junior Western Pleasure. They are just beginning their journey together and we predict a great one.

J-N Chances Are

By Marsha Hutmacher, Illinois POA

We discovered and bought JN’s Chances Are in September of 2002.  Our friend, Kelly Shumaker knew the pony and guaranteed me she was wonderful.  At the time, Taylor was 10 and Allie was 5.  My husband thought I was crazy to drive to Oklahoma and buy a pony we didn’t even know and had never seen other than on a video.

The morning we returned home from Oklahoma, Allie put a “Barbie” sun visor on Chance and rode her bareback for 3 hours.  We knew right then, Chance was wonderful!

We traveled to the Turkey circuit that year.  It was Taylor’s first show with Chance.  Taylor had always been a timid rider and a little reluctant around the horses.  Tom Walmsley, Taylor’s trainer, knew that Taylor needed a gentle pony and little did we know what we had started with Taylor and Chance!!  Taylor is now 13 years old, doing games, jumps, etc., etc.  So much for being timid now…….And to those of you who know Chance, she games fast and jumps big!  She excels in English, Showmanship and Western too.   Taylor truly trusts Chance to take care of her.

I could start with all of the accolades about the show abilities of the horse, Supreme Champion, International Class winner many times over, but she is all that and so much more!  We can always count on a winning performance from Chance, as this horse knows her stuff.

The old cliché, the mare is “rock solid” really is true in our case.  We have been in POA for 30 years, owned a lot of supreme champion ponies and never had a more trusting, calm, no-nonsense pony as we’ve found in Chance.  She has taken a child that was afraid to ride, to a trusting and brave high point 9-12, one pony/one rider combination this year in Illinois.

So, needless to say, JN ponies are very special to the Hutmacher family.
